Deutschlands Progressive Death Metal-Meister Obscura vervollständigen ihren lang andauernden, vier Alben umfassenden konzeptuellen Zirkel mit der Veröffentlichung von “Diluvium“, ihrer bisher eindrucksvollsten, vielseitigsten und lebendigsten Veröffentlichung.

Mit „Diluvium“ liefern Obscura den vierten und letzten Teil ihres Langzeitkonzepts ab, welches 2009 mit ihrem zweiten Studioalbum „Cosmogenesis“ losgetreten wurde. Die elf neuen Tracks beinhalten abermals ein Freudenfest für alle Prog-Fetischisten und Anhänger obskurer Death Metal-Scheiben der alten Schule. Dabei sind Obscura dem Erbe von Chuck Schuldiner und Death näher denn je und schaffen es erneut sich selbst zu übertrumpfen.

Das Schöne an „Diluvium“ ist, dass Mastermind Steffen Kummerer und seine drei Mitstreiter trotz ihrer vertrackt-komplexen Kompositionen nie den Faden verlieren und stets nachvollziehbare Songs produzieren, deren technisches Niveau plättet, fasziniert und flasht. Der kosmisch-futuristische Anteil ist vergleichbar hoch wie auf dem superben Vorgänger „Akróasis“ und erzeugt abermals, dank der großartigen Produktion von V. Germany’s progressive death metal masters OBSCURA complete their long-running, four-album conceptual circle with the release of Diluvium (defined as a great oceanic flood), their most evocative, diverse and vibrant release to date. Diluvium is due out July 13th on CD/LP/Digital via Relapse Records.
