At the „Wacken Music Camp“ teenagers have the opportunity to work on their own music being supported by experienced musicians and producers of the scene (musicians from Saxon, Subway To Sally and many others). Known for his significant 6/7 string fretless bass sound Linus Klausenitzer gained international fame. With his Death Metal band Obscura he has toured intensely all around the world.
As a son of two musicians, Linus Klausenitzer was faced with music at a very young age. Before he found his passion in playing the bass when he was 15 years old, he learned to play piano and trumpet. After graduating at a musical secondary school, he studied at the music college in Regensburg and graduated from a study course in popmusic at the conservatory in Hamburg. Having gained experience in bands of several genres, the German bass player found his main place in the genre that he has always loved most: Metal Music.
He started to perform internationally as a band member of Fall of Serenity and his first experimental band Noneuclid.
After recording their masterpiece „Metatheosis“ Noneuclid’s pioneering spirit led to an appearance in the renowned contemporary music festivals “Dag in de Branding” (Den Haag) and “Dutch Music Days” (Amsterdam), where the band premiered the 25-minute death metal symphony “Black Vortex Cathedral” as soloists along with the world famous „Dutch Metropole Orchestra„, in front of a stunned classical audience in the fall of 2008. In 2010, the band embarked on their next symphonic collaboration, this time with Linus’s father Professor Ulf Klausenitzer’s „Bavarian Chamber Orchestra„: „Transition Metal“, an encounter between the music of Richard Wagner and Noneuclid.
In 2011 Linus Klausenitzer joined the band he is most known for: Obscura. Linus started extensive touring on multiple world tours with such renowned artists as Sepultura and Children of Bodom. Later Obscura started to play headliner tours in Europe, Australia, Central/North America (USA, Canada, Mexico) and Asia (Japan, United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, …).
In 2014 Linus co-founded the extreme metal band Alkaloid which consists of international high-class musicians, including current and former members of Obscura, Spawn of Possession, Aborted, Dark Fortress, Necrophagist, God Dethroned, Blotted Science and Noneuclid. Alkaloid seamlessly ebb and flow through an arrange of styles and genres, creating an intelligent and fascinating blend of Prog, Death Metal, and Fusion. In 2015 Alkaloid was the first German Death Metal band to ever perform in Egypt.
Later Linus Klausenitzer started to give bass masterclasses („Guitar Summit“, „Popakademie“ and many more) and to be a speaker about „a digital musician“. Digital masterclasses are available at different online platforms like lowenduniversity.com and onlinelessons.tv.
As a studio artist he recorded with musicians like Marco Minnemann (Steven Wilson, Joe Satriani, Kreator, etc.), Jeff Loomis (Arch Enemy, Nevermore) and Marty Friedman (Megadeth).
